CEA SPECIAL NEWS February 2020

Updated: Dec 3, 2021

Deadline for Submission Postponed The CEA Annual Conference 2020 takes place place at Paris 8 from 10-12 June. Please note that the deadline for submissions has been postponed till 16 February. The proposals should follow a template available at the webpage: https://www.univ-paris8.fr/Critical-Edge-Alliance-International-Conference. The filled template should be sent by email no later than 16th February 2020 to M. Rudy Akueson (criticaledgealliance-conf2020@univ-paris8.fr), with the subject "Submission CEA 2020". This year’s conference theme is : “Acting in Higher Education in Response to Climate Change” Following the mobilization of students and young people around the world, the conference will offer an opportunity to rethink the impact of climate change and to prepare for upcoming challenges. How sustainable are our campuses? How can the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts contribute to the fight against climate change? What can we do as students, staff and faculty members, together and individually? These are some of the questions that the conference is aiming to address from different angles: training, research, interactions with our surroundings and local communities, innovative technologies, inclusion, international exchanges, and management. The conference is therefore an invitation to go beyond disciplinary and institutional silos. Everyone interested in the theme of higher education and climate change are encouraged to participate. This is an open call for submissions from faculty members, staff, students, as well as other stakeholders (community actors, NGOs, government entitites, etc.). We also welcome submissions from people who are not connected to a Critical Edge Alliance institution, but are interested in the theme as well as alternative and experimental approaches to higher education. You can propose:

  1. A paper

  2. A thematic panel

  3. A workshop

  4. An artistic production or expression

We prefer that panels and workshops bring together participants from as many countries and institutions of higher education as possible. We may therefore ask organizers to accept additional co-organizors and speakers.
