CEA CONFERENCE 2018

Updated: Dec 3, 2021

Conference 2018: Strategies For Innovative Learning

Thank you to everybody who participated and made for the inspiring 4th Critical Edge Alliance Conference at Universidad de los Andes. Under the banner of "Strategies for Innovative Learning", we exchanged views and experiences of our own experiences in teaching, research and administration. A special thank you to the Universidad de los Andes organizing team for the great program and making the days pass smoothly. In this newsletter we will focus on some of the many outcomes of the conference. The conference gathered around 60 participants from 10 universities and seven countries. We were also happy to include several participants from Mexico, Chile and other Colombian universities. Proposals were wildly different, from Emotional impact on learning experience after the death of a patient in a simulation scenario at Universidad de los Andes to The RUC cleaners project: an innovative approach to student-led research projects. Students and faculty worked together both on several of the proposals as well as in the following plenary discussions.

We welcome Paris 8 to our global community of experimental and progressive learning, teaching and research! We look forward to their unique take on the edge of the alliance. You can read about Université Paris 8 here and check out their webpage here.

Second Printed Edition of Critical Edges

The second printed edition of the international student magazine Critical Edges was published during the conference at Universidad de los Andes. If you didn't manage to grab a copy during the conference, it is available for download here. The magazine is the result of a two-year student collaboration centered around creating a platform

for critical and alternative student voices globally. You can also check their web-page for more inspiring articles.

Join the global working group on digital learning experiences

One of the outcomes from the conference was the establishment of a working group to share knowledge and experiences with digital learning and global classrooms.
